LEGEND OF ZELDA
BOOK III OF THE HYRULE TERMINUS SAGA
WORLD OF DARKNESS
CHAPTER VI
WE ARE SO SCREWED

The group finally reached the center of the fairy forest and looked around. “This is insane,” Saria muttered. “The fog's so thick you can choke on it!” Tingle groaned and said, “I think I already am.” The group looked around for a trace of the fairy queen, but there was no sign of her anywhere. As the searched, an all too familiar, evil laughter filled the air. The four warriors readied their weapons and prepared for combat. The creature from Death Mountain, the one that turned into the dreaded Basilisk, stood before them.

Smiling, the demon said, “Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The mysterious warriors that beat my brother, and a... a... I'm not quite sure WHAT you are, but you seem insignificant enough. Tell me, warriors, Have you come here to die?” Shadow smirked and answered, “No, but I think you, on the other hand, came to the right place.” Laughing, the Demon said, “I'm not as foolish as my brother was. I don't intend to fight you as he did. I'd prefer to use something else instead. Venus, my puppet, please do away with this mess.”

As the creature disappeared, the Fairy queen Venus appeared, but she emanated a cursed black aura around her body and her eyes were crimson red. Link yelled, “You're not fooling us, Demon. That's not the real Venus!” Dilt said in a panicked voice, “Uh, Dude? That really is the Queen! She's been possessed by the demon Link, thingy, guy, whatever he is.” The group took several paces back at the news out of sheer shock. Link muttered, “Then how do we take her on? If we Kill her, we kill the forest and everything in it!”

Navi yelled, “That Demon put a Phantom mask on her! If you can destroy it, you can save her!” The queen snapped her hands to the sides and two blades radiating a dark violet energy appeared. She then took a ready stance and glared at the warriors. Shadow said, “Go for the mask, and no matter what, don't hurt her!” Both Links charged the queen and locked blades with hers. Saria and Sheik jumped high into the air to deliver the strike that would end the fight.

At that moment, a powerful blast of energy sent them all flying a fair distance away from the possessed fairy. Link sat up and said, “No way... She can actually do those kinds of attacks?” Shadow groaned. “Do Forest Kokiri live under rocks or something? Of course she can! She's MAGIC!!!” Sheik got to his feet and said, “Well, sorry. We just don't get out of the forest much, sand boy.” Shadow and Link ran and preformed a cyclonic slashing attack at the fairy. What they didn't expect was that she used the same attack to send them flying.

The two crashed into the ground and Sheik said, “Looks like a head on assault is not the best plan. We need to come up with a better...” He was cut off as a massive stone hit him and sent him flying. The other three turned and saw that she had used her powers to lift a large number of stoned and let them hover around her. The rocks were sent flying and the group went on the defensive. Saria dodged three boulders and was hit by the fourth, Shadow raised his shield to deflect the attack, but one got bast his guard and Link was sent flying from the impact against the shield, dropping his sword.

Tingle watched the whole thing go on and stood there in absolute fear. Link yelled, “Everyone! Fall back!!!” Sheik yelled in reply, “Behind us!” the four warriors were brutally beaten by another series of stoning. Forcing themselves to their feet, Shadow groaned, “This isn't good. My shield is destroyed, and our weapons are on the verge of breaking as well!” Link eyed his blade lying thirty paces away.

Knowing what her friend was about to do, Saria yelled, “Don't even think about it!” The elf ignored the warning and ran for his fallen weapon, the only one that was still in useable condition. Large stones flew at him and he jumped, dodged , weaved and rolled on his way to his blade. As he dove to his weapon, he got hit by a large stone and was sent flying. He could feel several of his ribs crack from the impact.

Lying curled in agony, the others ran to his aid. The demon laughed and reappeared, saying, “Foolish, foolish Kokiri. Did you really think that you could possibly defeat me? With the Fairy Queen under my control, I will finally be rid of you and finish what I started. Both worlds will fall into turmoil and chaos, and ultimately destroy themselves. Best of all, The chosen warriors are powerless to stop me.” He burst into maniacal laughter as the queen approached the four elves to slay them where they stood.

At that moment, an arrow flew past the Demon, slicing through it's cheek. Putting it's hand on his new wound, he looked at the blood and became enraged. “Who did that! Who is the senseless fool that just signed their own death warrant?!?” Turning, he saw Tingle holding the bow, shaking violently with his eyes closed. “Did I hit it? I'm too scared to see myself!” Stunned, the Demon yelled, “The gnome? With his eyes CLOSED?!?” Opening his eyes, he saw the fresh wound on his enemy's face and smile, “I really hit him!” pausing for a moment, he then said, “Just as I planned. Ho-ho-ho!! I, Tingle the Mighty never fails!!!”

The four warriors muttered, “Tingle the mighty...?” Saria then added, “He just hit him completely by accident...” Shadow muttered, “Not so loud. The demon doesn't know that.” Fear crossed the Demon's face. “No creature has ever hit me with a mere arrow before! You must be far greater a warrior then the other four. I have been focused on the wrong enemy the whole time!!!” Tingle casually picked up Link's fallen blade, saying, “It would appear so, hmm? So tell me, how do you plan to win against the likes of me?”

Sheik sighed. “Unorthodox strategy. Talk the enemy to death...” Saria elbowed him sharply, saying, “Not so loud. We can use this time to come up with a plan.” Shadow sighed. “I hate fight scene Monologues.”

Tingle smiled, holding the sword the ready. “Prepare to taste defeat, Demon!” He then ran at the enemy waving the sword wildly with his eyes closed. Shadow groaned. “He's the one that's got to save us? He's swinging the sword without any idea what he's doing.” The four looked at each other for a moment, then said, “We are so screwed.”
