 SONIC BLITZ

BOOK III OF THE CHAOTIX TRILOGY

UNDER THE BLAZING SKY

CHAPTER []

Sonic stood in the plain void that had become fairly customary in his adventure. He looked to the sky and yelled, “Hey! Writer guy! We need to talk!”

You sound a little upset

“Damned straight I’m upset! This storyline killed my mom, my sister and my best friend! What gives?!?”

Sorry. I can’t go spilling the plot after the third chapter. You just have to keep moving forward.

“How do you expect me to move forward? I have no one! Nothing! Everything I care for and hold dear are dead, and it’s all your fault!”

Look, Sonic. I can tell what you’re going through, but…

“No, You don’t know! You have no idea! You just think it’s cool to kill off everyone and everything!”

Hey! Will you just Shut Up and listen for a sec? You have to go fight Nazo in a final battle to the death in this book! Do you honestly think you can do that if you have to keep your friends safe at the same time? Besides. Each death held a purpose.”

Sonic sat there with a cold expression.

Okay. Think about. Could you have gotten out of Delta City if you couldn’t get past those zombies? You cut their heads off and they still came at you, for crying out loud. You needed to get rid of them, and the fires of hell do a pretty good job at destroying undead things.

“And Knuckles?”

Who else do you know was born from chaos energy that can use it’s power without touching an emerald?”

“What about Tails?” he asked in tears. “My best friend. My only friend. Why’d you let him get gunned down?”

Believe it or not, Shadow had his reasons for killing him. Nazo doesn’t want you dead, but he want’s the threat to his safety removed. He can think up some really nice strategies, and you’re as dense as a rock. To increase his chances, Tails had to go. There’s also a loophole to what shadow did, but I can’t tell you that. Just that killing Tails was the first independent thing he did. It would have been smarter for Shadow to kill you, since you’re the real threat, but he killed your friend, leaving the real threat unharmed.

“Are you saying that he killed Tails because he isn’t a threat?”

Sort of. If you had the choice in a war to take out a supply truck or the tank behind it, what would you choose?”

“The tank. Duh.”

Well, then why did Shadow take out the supply truck?

“Not quite following here.”

You’re faster than Tails, a stronger fighter and you can use the Chaos Emeralds for added power. Tails cant. Tank and supply truck.

“I think what you’re trying to say is that compared to Tails, I pose the bigger threat.”

That’s right. And when you use the Chaos Emeralds, the threat you pose is a lot greater. Besides, killing off the main character again sounds a little stupid, if you ask me.

“I didn’t like it the first time, thank you very much.”

There we go, then. Besides, Shadow’s an under handed, sneaky little bastard, so he has something up his sleeve.

“Care to tell me what that might be?”

I could, but I won’t. You’re just going to have to continue with the story if you want to find out what’s really going on.

“Bastard.”

Thanks. Now get back into your world and finish this fight. I don’t thing the world wants us to stand here bitching at each other.
